We have proudly served Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama for 38 years. All of our screen printing and embroidery is done in house, so rest assured that your order will be done correctly and in a timely fashion. Owner/Salesman
Jeff Covington
Jeff has been part of Sports Spectrum since August 1986. A Tyner High and UTC graduate, he oversees sales and day-to-day operations, working closely with local schools, coaches, and organizations. Jeff loves the flexibility of his role and the constant change that comes with each sports season.
He and his wife, Laura, have been married for 34 years and have two sons, Chandler and Riley, both UT graduates. Jeff is a lifelong UT Vols and Atlanta Braves fan, runs on vanilla iced coffee, and spends his days off traveling, relaxing by the pool, or making sure his yard isn’t the one the neighbors talk about.
Fun fact: He hopes to have grandkids while he’s still young enough to keep up with them.
Salesman
Adam Young
Adam joined Sports Spectrum in 2001 and works in sales and customer service, helping customers find exactly what they need. A UTC graduate, he enjoys the variety each day brings—and jokes that the close proximity to a grocery store doesn’t hurt either.
Adam and his wife, Taylor, share their home with two dogs. A fan of Port & Company products and loyal supporter of Arsenal FC, he powers through the workday with black coffee and NPR.
On his days off, you’ll probably find him napping.
Fun fact: Adam owns a unicycle but can only ride it about ten feet.
Finance Manager
Amy Ervin
Amy first worked at Sports Spectrum from 2012–2016 and returned to the team in January of this year. In her role, she helps customers, answers phones, and assists with heat pressing. Her favorite part of the job is the people she gets to work with each day.
Amy has been married to her husband, Brent, for 22 years. They have two sons—Brody and Sawyer—and a Yorkie named Bear. A graduate of LFO High School, she’s a fan of Under Armour and proudly cheers for the Tennessee Volunteers.
Her workday staples include hazelnut coffee, Nerds gummy clusters, and Dot’s pretzels, usually paired with “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey. On her days off, Amy loves reading or relaxing with a good movie or TV series.
Fun fact: She met her husband in the third grade.
Salesman
Ben Varnell
Ben joined Sports Spectrum part-time in 1996 and moved into a full-time role in January 2001. A Chattanooga Central and UTC graduate, he manages his own sales accounts while also helping with day-to-day tasks in the office and warehouse.
Ben’s favorite part of working at Sports Spectrum is staying connected to youth sports as the years go by. He’s a fan of Wilson/Evoshield gear, roots for Alabama and the Atlanta Braves, and starts his mornings with a regular hot black coffee from Scooter’s or Dunkin’.
Ben and his wife, Kary, have a 12-year-old son, Luke, and a Golden Retriever named Rigsby. On his days off, he enjoys watching Luke play sports or getting out on the golf course.
Fun fact: He throws a baseball left-handed but a football right-handed.
Retail Sales
Brody Ervin
Brody joined Sports Spectrum in July 2024 and works across the retail floor—running the register, answering phones, heat pressing orders, grabbing lunch runs, and helping with whatever else needs to get done around the building. He enjoys the friendly atmosphere and the people he gets to work with each day.
A Heritage High School graduate, Brody is currently a student at Dalton State College. He’s a Tennessee Volunteers fan, a big Morgan Wallen listener, and a loyal fan of the blue Under Armour shoes we carry.
Brody’s go-to workday drink is a mango smoothie from Scooter’s, and on his days off, you’ll likely find him bass fishing or watching Tennessee football.
Fun fact: He claims to be the greatest shooter Heritage High School has ever seen.
Inventory Specialist
Carrie Lamb
Carrie joined Sports Spectrum in February 2022. She enjoys the laid-back atmosphere and the wonderful people she gets to work with each day. She’s a fan of Adidas and cheers loudly for the Tennessee Vols.
Carrie is married and has two children and one grandchild. Her go-to hype song is “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey, and on her days off, she loves spending time with her family.
Fun fact: She loves cats—but can’t have one because her husband is allergic.
Screen Print Manager
Chris Covington
Chris has been part of Sports Spectrum since 1999 and oversees the daily production schedule for the screen-printing department. He enjoys working with his coworkers and takes pride in creating products that make customers happy.
A Tyner High School graduate, Chris is married to his wife, Tracey, and has three children—Karys, Garren, and daughter-in-law Abby. Their home is completed by two doodles: Ollie the Goldendoodle and Mazie the Bernedoodle.
Chris’s favorite brand we carry is Under Armour, and he’s a loyal Tennessee Vols fan. His hype song is “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson, and he never turns down something sweet during the workday.
On his days off, he enjoys watching football.
Fun fact: Chris loves to bake and cook.

Jimmy Evans
Jimmy has been part of the Sports Spectrum team since August 2016 and brings great energy to everything he does. He works closely with schools, businesses, and rec leagues to make sure every customer is taken care of, and he loves being part of what makes local sports thrive.
With a degree in Marketing and a love for the Tennessee Volunteers + the teams his sons coach, Jimmy’s passion for sports fits right in. When he’s not helping customers, he’s probably enjoying a Pumpkin Spice Latte or perfecting his latest smoked recipe.
Fun fact: Jimmy is seriously into smoking food and is always experimenting with new flavors!
Graphic Artist
John Hixson
John has been part of Sports Spectrum across two stretches—first from 2012 to 2015, and again since 2019. Before joining the team, he served 6.5 years in the United States Air Force. In his role as Graphic Artist, John creates custom T-shirt designs, prepares artwork separations for screen printing, and sends files for digital printing.
Married to his wife, Kathy, for 44 years, John is also a proud dad to his son, Jonathan. A Chicago Bears fan, he keeps his workday running with Diet Dr Pepper and the occasional doughnut.
On his days off, John enjoys precision rifle shooting, painting, drawing, and building things.
Fun fact: John says his favorite part of Sports Spectrum is the people.
Saleswoman + Online Store Designer
Josie Kapherr
Josie joined Sports Spectrum in September 2020 and plays a key role in both inside sales and online store development. From building and managing custom online stores to checking in inventory, laying out products, pressing logos, packing orders, creating estimates, sending invoices, and designing mockups—she keeps the process running smoothly from start to finish.
Josie has an Associate’s Degree in Business and loves the flexibility of her role, especially the balance it gives her to grow professionally while spending time with her family. She and her husband, Kyle, have a 16-month-old daughter, Collins, and a baby boy on the way.
Her favorite brand we carry is Under Armour, especially the UA HOVR shoes. A Tennessee fan at heart, Josie starts her mornings with an iced white chocolate mocha and a little Taylor Swift (“You Need to Calm Down”) to hype up her day.
When she’s off work, you’ll find her outside with her daughter—or shopping.

Customer Service
Kirsten Agne
Kirsten joined Sports Spectrum in August 2023 and supports several members of the sales team. She manages orders from start to finish—creating mockups, coordinating with printers and vendors, researching items, answering customer questions, and ensuring everything is delivered on time.
She holds a Bachelor of Science from Miami University and has been married to her husband, Todd, for 31 years. They have two adult children: Will (married to Emmy) and Maddie, who currently lives in London.
Kirsten loves the people she works with. Her favorite brands include Ogio and Boxercraft. A Michigan Wolverines fan, she runs on a decaf flat white and snacks on nuts or Twizzlers.
On her days off, she enjoys baking, gardening, shopping, playing Mahjong, and spending time with friends.
Fun fact: In high school, she was a Wrestlerette—a wrestling cheerleader!
Saleswoman
Michelle Patrick
Michelle joined Sports Spectrum in July 2024 and works hands-on through the entire sales process, helping clients bring their ideas to life. She enjoys the creative aspect of the job and the relaxed, team-oriented environment.
She holds a Master’s in Public Health from Austin Peay and has been married for 26 years. Michelle has two daughters, two cats, a dog, and a big love for travel. Her current favorite product is the MV Sports Vintage Sweatshirt, and she proudly cheers for the Tennessee Vols.
Fueled by Diet Coke and the occasional Starbucks seasonal drink, she starts her day with “Good Day” by Frank Forrest. On her days off, you’ll find her outside or vacationing—preferably at the beach.
Fun fact: She’s an adventurer who has tried everything from skydiving to paragliding in the Swiss Alps.
Retail Sales
Pat Conard
Pat joined Sports Spectrum in January 2015 and works in retail, taking on whatever tasks the day brings and helping support both customers and coworkers. Pat enjoys the daily interactions with people and the upbeat environment of the store.
Originally from New Jersey, Pat travels home often to visit family. Pat holds an Ed.S. degree from Tennessee Tech and is a fan of brands like Under Armour and SanMar.
A loyal supporter of the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers, Pat starts the day with Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and keeps it simple with an apple for a workday snack. On days off, Pat loves spending time outdoors.
Fun fact: Pat is a very enthusiastic Phillies fan!

Phill Jones
Phill joined Sports Spectrum in August 2024 and splits his time between outside sales and delivering products to customers. He enjoys seeing team uniforms come together and says the best part of the job is the people he works with.
Phill studied at Mercer University in Atlanta. He and his wife, Theresa, have been married for 45 years and have two daughters, Courtney and Carly. Carly and her husband Austin are expecting their first child in December, making Phill a soon-to-be grandfather.
A longtime Atlanta Braves fan, Phill starts his mornings with regular coffee and cream, a granola bar, and his current go-to song, “Evidence.” On his days off, he loves spending time with family and friends.
Fun fact: Phill loves people—meeting them, talking with them, and getting to know their stories.
Customer Service
Rebecca Hixson
Rebecca joined Sports Spectrum in January 2017 and wears more hats than anyone can count. Her daily work includes ordering, billing, estimates, managing Sports Inc and CLC, overseeing booking orders, handling returns, supporting staff needs, managing her own sales accounts, heat pressing, and serving as Jeff’s go-to for customer service, research, and custom mockups.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Kentucky Wesleyan College. Rebecca is married to Rett and is mom to her son, Layne, along with their spoiled English Field Cocker, Griff. Her favorite part of working at SS is the flexibility, and her go-to brand is SanMar for its huge range of products and sizes.
A Tennessee Volunteers fan, Rebecca fuels her day with an iced brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso. On her days off, she enjoys spending time with her husband—whether that’s lunch downtown or fishing the Toccoa in Blue Ridge.
Fun fact: Rebecca majored in Music Industry and performed internationally, including at Carnegie Hall and cathedrals in Austria, London, and New Orleans.
Office Manager
Ron Anthony
Ron joined Sports Spectrum in September 2022 and manages collections, vendor statement reconciliation, insurance, fleet needs, and building-related vendors. He loves the flexibility of his part-time role and the chance to learn every aspect of the business—especially while working alongside a great team.
Ron holds a B.S. in Criminology from Georgia Southern University. He and his wife, Sherry, have been married for nearly 35 years and have three sons—Matthew, Michael (married to Amanda), and Will, who started his career at Sports Spectrum. Ron is also a proud grandfather to two granddaughters, Kailyn and Myleigh.
A fan of Under Armour, Ron cheers for the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, Denver Broncos, and Colorado Avalanche. His workday staples include hot Dunkin’ coffee, mini vanilla Moon Pies, and his go-to hype song, “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”
Fun fact: Ron once appeared as an extra in a chase scene in the 1974 film The Longest Yard.
Marketing Manager
Sloane Mulligan
Sloane joined Sports Spectrum in October 2025 and serves as the Marketing Manager, overseeing creative direction, branding, and digital content. She loves the flexibility her role provides, allowing her to prioritize time with her family while growing in her career.
Sloane graduated from UTC in 2019. She is married to Cam, and they have two boys—Steel and Duke—and a Labradoodle named Kobe.
Her favorite teams include the Auburn Tigers, Atlanta Braves, and Philadelphia Eagles. She fuels her workday with a brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso and a Stars & Honey protein bar, usually with “Cloudy Day” by Tones and I playing in the background.
On her days off, Sloane enjoys shopping and spending time with her boys.
Fun fact: She played both basketball and softball at Tennessee Temple University.

Steve Garland
Steve joined Sports Spectrum in August 2025 after a 32-year career with Hamilton County Schools, where he taught, coached, and served as an Assistant Principal. He holds degrees from Carson-Newman College and Tennessee Tech.
In his role, Steve supports coaches, teachers, administrators, and small businesses with their apparel and sporting goods needs. He enjoys being part of the Sports Spectrum team and connecting with educators across the area.
Steve and his wife of nearly 25 years, Kim, have a daughter, Christin Grace, who is pursuing her graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology. They also have a Dachshund mix named Sadie. A devoted Tennessee Vols fan, Steve loves watching UT sports, sipping French vanilla cappuccino, and starting the day with “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
Fun fact: He retired from education but still coaches every afternoon.
